摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for image formation by which a high transfer efficiency can be obtained and this state can be maintained for a long time so as to obtain an image of higher definition and high durability of a photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The method for image formation includes a process of allowing an electrostatic latent image carrying body having a specified surface resistance and a developer carrying body which carries and supplies a two-component developer containing a magnetic carrier and a toner to face each other and a process of developing an electrostatic latent image on the electrostatic latent image carrying body by bringing a developer magnetic brush formed on the developer carrying body into contact with the latent image carrying body while applying an AC electric field. In this method, the carrier has 5 to 10μm particle size, >=1.0×1013Ω.cm resistivity when a voltage from 25 to 500 V is applied, and 40 to 250 emu/cm3 magnetization intensity at 1 kOe. The toner is a spherical toner having 1 to 10μm particle size and a specified range of the shape factor and has a coating layer formed by depositing and fixing granular aggregates containing at least a silicon compound on the surface of toner particles.</p>
