<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix type liquid crystal display device in which a desired opening rate can be maintained as well as the response rate can be improved, and coloring of the display in an oblique view can be prevented, and a wider viewing angle can be obtained. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device, an equivalent potential to that of the pixel electrode (2) and/or common electrode (4) is applied on a sub electrode (8) consisting of a transparent material so as to enhance the effective lateral electric field on the substrate generated from the pixel electrode (4) which determines the alignment of the liquid crystal (20).</p> |
