LIQUID CRYSTAL ELEMENT, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD AND MANUFACTURING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monostable chiral smectic liquid crystal element without any void part of the liquid crystal and any minute abnormal alignment part by a simple method. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal cell 10 in which a chiral smectic liquid crystal in an Iso. (isotropic) phase or in a Ch (cholesteric) phase is injected is mounted on a hot plate 20. By making the cell 10 move to the upper side of a cooling plate 21 set to room temperature starting from a terminal part corresponding to a liquid crystal injection port, the liquid crystal is successively cooled starting from the terminal part and shifts into a chiral smectic phase.
