PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pigment and a cosmetic capable of providing a natural finish having a bare skin feeling and transparency while uniformly covering the color shading such as dermal stains or ephelides when formulated in the cosmetic. SOLUTION: This sintered composite pigment is obtained by mixing a flaky powder having 0.1-50μm average primary particle diameter and 3-50 aspect ratio with a particulate iron oxide having 0.01-0.3μm average primary particle diameter and at least one kind selected from alumina, silica, zirconia, titanium oxide, zinc oxide, boron nitride, aluminum hydroxide and barium sulfate having 0.01-0.3μm average primary particle diameter and sintering the resultant mixture. The cosmetic is prepared by formulating the sintered composite pigment.
