PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate cardiac disease diagnosis based on the periodic behavior of a blood vessel in an ultrasonograph. SOLUTION: A blood vessel diameter and its change speed are set as two-dimensional coordinates to describe the locus. An image memory 90 determines an X-address according to the blood vessel diameter, determines a Y-address according to the change speed and stores a locus of one cardiac cycle. An adder 94 outputs after adding the own output multiplied by a specified coefficient by a multiplier 98 and fed back to the locus stored in the image memory 90. The locus of each cardiac cycle is thereby accumulated. The coefficient in the multiplier 98 is made smaller than 1. As a result, the older the cardiac cycle is, the more decayed the brightness of the locus is displayed. A color coding part 100 changes the hue of each time phase corresponding part of the locus on the basis of a control signal corresponding to the contraction time phase and expansion time phase during a cardiac period generated by a time phase color display control part 102.
