<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the liquid crystal display device of the satisfactory characteristic of the angle of visibility, which prevents the delay of a response due to the influence of a data line or a gate electrode and the drop of panel transmissivity in a low application voltage area and whose opening rate can be enlarged. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device of an IPS system, a gate electrode 2 and a common electrode 3, and TFT, a data like and a pixel electrode 7 and a passivation film 8 through an interlayer insulating film are formed on a first transparent substrate 1 where TFT is formed. Liquid crystal 17 sandwiched by the first transparent substrate and a confronted second transparent substrate is rotated in a face which is almost parallel to the substrate by voltage applied between the pixel electrode and the common electrode, which are alternately formed in parallel. A partition 9a constituted of an insulating body is formed on the passivation film so that it is overlapped with the common electrode. Thus, liquid crystal in a pixel area is parted from liquid crystal oriented in a different direction by a DC voltage applied to the gate electrode or the data line and the response of liquid crystal and the characteristic of the angle of visibility are improved.</p> |
