摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of crosstalk as much as possible, and to prevent the lowering of contrast as much as possible even when writing is performed with a different polarity. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with an array substrate having scanning lines 12 formed on a 1st substrate, signal lines 13 formed on the 1st substrate so as to cross the scanning lines, pixels 16 formed at each intersection of the scanning lines and signal lines and switching elements 15 for sending out picture signals to the pixels from the signal lines, a counter substrate having counter electrodes formed on a 2nd substrate, and a liquid crystal layer consisting of a simply stabilized ferro-dielectric liquid crystal material held between the array substrate and the counter substrate. The pixels have 1st pixels in which the liquid crystal layer is in a 1st alignment state at the non-electric field time, and 2nd pixels in which the liquid crystal layer is in a 2nd alignment state at the non-electric field time.</p>
