PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly recognize the flaw of the inner wall surface of a cylinder in spite of the shape thereof. SOLUTION: The conical mirror 13 connected to the front of an image pickup camera 11 is formed in a multistage fashion consisting of a first mirror part 25 equipped with a conical reflecting surface 25a having a vertical angleα, and a second mirror part 27 equipped with a conical reflecting surface 27a having a vertical angleβ. The image pickup camera 11 is constituted so that the focal point of a lens is shortened and the field angle thereof is widened and directly picks up the image of the inner wall surface 17 of the cylinder. The camera picks up the image not only in the direction perpendicular to the inner wall surface of the cylinder through the conical reflecting surface 25a, but also from the lower part on the side opposite to the image pickup camera 11 through the conical reflecting surface 27a. The images picked up from three directions are processed by an image processor 21, and the picked-up images from three directions are displayed on a monitor 19 in a concentric circular state.
