<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toll collection system, capable of relieving traffic jams by realizing settlement with non-stop, without having to provide special lane dedicated to the electronic settlement. SOLUTION: This toll collection system is constituted of a base station 3, connected to a portable terminal 1 existing in a specified communicating area and a server 8, connected to the base station through a communication line; the server is constituted of a first memory part to memorize a position of the base station, a second memory part for staring data and unit cost to specify a contractor or a contract vehicle, a moving route specifying part to specify the moving route of the portable terminal from the portable terminal, the base station for making it specified in connected state and a position memorized in the first memory part, the specified moving route, a toll-computing part for computing the toll from the unit cost for each of the names of the contractors or the contract vehicle numbers and a charging means to charge the contractor or the contract vehicle the toll computed by the toll-computing means.</p> |
