PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the peak voltage of a signal using a simple configuration, without deteriorating transmission characteristics and making the equipment large in size. SOLUTION: A sequential coding processing section 102 applies class-4 partial response coding processing to serial data outputted from a digital modulation section 101 and expressed in binary values of '+1' and '0', to convert the serial data into serial data expressed in three values of '+1', '0' and '-1' and provides an output of the data to an SP conversion section 106. The SP conversion section 106 applies serial/parallel conversion to the serial data, assigns the respective data to a subcarrier and outputs the data to an IFFT (inverse fast-Fouirer transoframtion) section 107. The IFFT section 107 applies inverse fast-Fourier transformation to the signal outputted from the SP conversion section and outputs the transmission signal subjected to the inverse fast- Fourier transformation to a wireless transmission signal 108.
