PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively and surely reduce a fuel consumption and vehicle body vibration by quickly shifting a clutch in a slipping condition regardless of production and parts variations. SOLUTION: A deviation (e) of a slip revolution speed Ns calculated from an engine revolution speed Ne and a turbine revolution speed Nt from a preset target slip revolution speed Na is calculated. The deviation (e) is fed back based on a PID control rule to calculate a correction termΔd as a correction amount of engagement force of a low clutch 12 and an engagement force of the low clutch 12 is set based on a previously calculated correction termΔd-1 and a presently calculated correction termΔd. In case that an automatic neutral state is cancelled, a correction term which is calculated at the last time is recorded. When another automatic neutral state is started, the recorded correction term is set as the previously calculated correction term and the calculation is started.
