PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-resistant filter element capable of being continuously used even under a high temperature environment of about 200 deg.C, suppressed in installation cost and excellent in mass productivity, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The heat-resistant filter element used for separating and collecting fine particles is constituted by forming a coating layer of a fluororesin on the surface of an open-cell porous member, which is obtained by heating and baking a mixture prepared by compounding 30-60 wt.% of an inorganic filler with polyphenylene sulfide.
