PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for document preparation which can improve the efficiency of vocal parenthesis input. SOLUTION: When there is a candidate for conversion into a parenthesis during the vocal input, the document preparation device which prepares a document through the vocal input performs conversion into a closing parenthesis and outputs it on condition that previously inputted information on a parenthesis, e.g. an opening parenthesis is inputted before and a closing parenthesis corresponding to the opening parenthesis is not inputted yet. When a corresponding opening or closing parenthesis is already outputted, a closing parenthesis of the same kind is outputted to enable smooth and accurate parenthesis input. |
