<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent tape damages, when a magnetic tape is made to travel at a high speed. SOLUTION: This guide roller 40 with flange parts has a shaft part 41 which is fixed and supported; a guide roller part 42 which is formed to approximately the same transverse size as the width B of a magnetic tape T and rotates around this shaft part 41 by traveling, while winding the magnetic tape T; and the flange parts 43 and 44 which are disposed at the top and bottom ends of the guide roller part 42 about the shaft part 41 as a center and are formed to the diameter slightly larger than the diameter of the guide roller part 42, in order to regulate top and bottom ends Ta and Tb in the width direction of the magnetic tape T. The guide roller with the flange parts has means 41 and 52 for vertically moving the flange parts, which make the spacing between the upper and lower flange parts 43 and 44 wider than the width B of the magnetic tape T, by utilizing the high-speed rotation of the guide roller part 42, when the magnetic tape T is made to travel at the speed higher than the tape speed in recording and reproducing.</p> |
