摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell electrode catalyst exhibiting superior characteristics at a small carrying quantity. SOLUTION: This fuel cell electrode catalyst is composed of platinum particles whose 5 wt.% or more are cubic-shape or regular-tetrahedron-shape platinum particles. The manufacturing method of the electrode catalyst comprises a process of bubbling hydrogen in an aqueous solution formed by dissolving platinic chloride (II) potassium and sodium polyacrylate so as to generate platinum colloid solution, a process of adding a conductive carbon material to the platinum colloid solution and then preparing the pH of the liquid to 3 or less or 12 or more, a process of separating the colloidal particles from the liquid along with the carbon material, and a process of heat treating the separated carbon material with the colloidal particles at 180-350 deg.C.</p>
