PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vulcanizing agent for rubber capable of restraining burning by early vulcanization and return by vulcanization without various material properties after aging of vulcanized rubber and to provide a rubber composition containing the same. SOLUTION: A vulcanizing agent for rubber comprises a compound having at least two thiocarbonate groups in a molecule. Preferably, a reacting agent to the thiocarbonate is added to the vulcanizing agent. In addition, the thiocarbonate groups are preferably those selected from a monothiocarbonate group, a dithiocarbonate group and a trichiocarbonate group.
