PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsion explosive which is improved in impact resistance and hardly gives rise to misfire and remaining without impairing the intrinsic initiation sensitivity possessed by the W/O type emulsion explosive. SOLUTION: The waterdrop-in-oil type emulsion explosive consisting of an aqueous oxidizing agent solution, oils, emulsifiers and microhollow spherical bodies is prepared by using the glass microhollow spherical bodies of >=45 vol.% in the survival rate when the microhollow spherical bodies are pressurized to 13.79 MPa (2,000 psi) under true specific gravity ranging from 0.10 to 0.35 as the microhollow spherical bodies.
