PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage disposer capable of reducing its consumption energy. SOLUTION: A cover switch 7 detects the discharge of garbage and time from the discharge is measured. When new garbage is not discharged for three days or above, a control mode is changed to a power saving mode, the stirring frequency of a stirring blade 2 is reduced and a control temperature by the heating of a heater 4 is dropped. When garbage is not discharged for three days or above, the control mode is shifted to an operation stop mode to stop a stirring and heating operation.
