PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent penetration of water into an exhaust pipe arranged under water and enhance output efficiency of a diesel engine in an intake method for the diesel engine for a workboat used under water. SOLUTION: A part of air for combustion is supplied into an exhaust pipe 14 according to a load of the diesel engine 10. The load of the diesel engine 10 is monitored with a load sensor 33, and when the load reaches the specified value, an opening/closing valve 20 is closed.
