PURPOSE: A method is provided to prevent a strong discharge phenomenon and a lack radiation time phenomenon owing to a bundle process of a reset period by performing a reset operation with regard to selected ones of all frames. CONSTITUTION: As a time when each display cell radiates once, a frame is divided into a plurality of sub-fields, and each sub-field is divided into an address discharge period, a sustain discharge period, and an erase period. If an external power is supplied, the address discharge period, the sustain discharge period, and the erase period are repeated by a predetermined cycle, so that a radiation state of each display cell is selectively adjusted. When a power is supplied, all-screen write pulse is inputted to X sustain electrodes before the address discharge period. and all-screen erase pulse is inputted to Y sustain electrodes with a predetermined time difference from the all-screen write pulse. As a result, all display cells are reset. |
