PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insert for a rotary type arm rest, in which the number of constitutional parts of the insert is made few and production is made easy and also weight reduction can be realized and a structure is simple, the rotary type arm rest, in which lightweight properties are excellent by using the insert and production is made easy, and a method for producing the rotary type arm rest. SOLUTION: The insert is constituted of both a base 21, in which an insertion hole 22 on the base side is press-molded into a short cylinder shape, and a cylindrical member 31, in which one end of a cylinder part 33 is folded back into a cylinder part and an annular seal face 36 is formed and the central side of the annular seal face is bent into the cylinder part and a short cylindrical insertion hole 34 on the cylindrical member side is formed and also stuck and erected in the inner face of the base on the other end sides 39 of the cylinder part. Both the peripheral edge of the insertion hole on the base side and the annular seal face become a seal part 17 sticking to the inner surface of a skin at the time of integral foaming of the skin.
