PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant resin composition containing a halogen- free flame retardant, free from the troubles such as the bleeding out of the retardant from a thermoplastic resin and the lowering of the flame retardance and mechanical property by hydrolysis and having excellent persistent flame- retardance. SOLUTION: The flame-retarded resin composition is composed of 0.5-100 pts.wt. of a specific polyester containing phosphorus and 100 pts.wt. of one or more kinds of thermoplastic resins having a solubility parameter of 8-16 such as polyester resin, polystyrene resin, polyamide resin, polycarbonate resin and polyphenylene oxide resin.
