PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner which does not cause device deterioration due to a specified volatile component included in the toner and which does not cause deformation of resin parts or deterioration in the resin such as cracking of the housing of a fixing device or the periphery of the fixing unit and which can maintain picture quality such as fixing property. SOLUTION: In the toner for the thermal fixing containing at least binder resin and coloring agent, the alcohol component of the toner is measured by a head space method. The alcohol component consists of alcohols having 1 to 24 carbon atoms and the proportion of the alcohol component in the toner ranges from 0.4 to 39 ppm.
