PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for maintaining an ink-jet print head in order to recover from a specific print head breakdown mode. SOLUTION: The method for maintaining an ink-jet print head comprises a step in which a print head 300 for an ink-jet printer 100 having a plurality of printing nozzles 302 is provided and a step in which the printing nozzles 302 produce jets of ink in such a way that contaminants 250 in the printing nozzles 302 are pushed away toward one end of the print head 300.
