摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the rigidity of the trunnion of a troidal continuously variable transmission with a simple structure. SOLUTION: The trunnion 73 of this toroidal continuously variable transmission is provided with a pair of journal sections 73a and 73b arranged apart from each other on a trunnion shaft 65, a U-shaped eccentric section 73c arranged eccentrically to the trunnion shaft 65 and integrally connected to the opposite end sections of a pair of journal sections 73a and 73b at both ends, and a pivot shaft 87 provided on the eccentric section 73c to support a power roller 66 in the space surrounded by the eccentric section 73c and the opposite end sections of a pair of journal sections 73a and 73b. The opposite end sections of a pair of journal section 73a and 73b of the trunnion 73 are connected by a reinforcing member 96 to pinch the power roller 66 with the eccentric section 73c of the trunnion 73 and the reinforcing member 96, thereby the trunnion 73 is prevented from being deformed by the load F applied from an input disk and an output disk via the power roller 66.
