PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based adhesive suitably employable for bonding a plastic sheet to a porous board and permitting recycle by re-release and the like of an adhered product once obtained by adhesion using the same. SOLUTION: The water-based adhesive composition has characteristics such that it exhibits excellent adhesive properties in adhesion of a plastic sheet such as a polyester sheet, a polyolefin sheet and the like to a porous board and that it permits easy release of the adhered product by heating, and comprises (A) a polyvinyl alcohol-containing, ethylene/vinyl acetate/ polyfunctional monomer copolymer emulsion having a toluene insoluble content of at least 70 mass%, (B) a sulfonic acid-modified, anionic polyurethane emulsion and (C) fine heat-expandable hollow particles.
