PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding device for optical elements which suppresses the generation of parallel deviation and tilt deviation and decreases the motion resistance of dies. SOLUTION: This molding device has a pair of upper and lower dies 3, 4 to press and mold a glass preform 2, a cylindrical body die 5 to house the dies and a deviation preventing member 1 formed on the inner face of the body die or on the outer faces of the dies in the gap between the upper die 3 and/or lower die and the body die. When the preform is not heated, the upper die and/or lower die 4 can vertically move in the body die 5 while the deviation preventing member 1 makes point contact, line contact or partial surface contact with the outer faces of the dies or with the inner face of the body die and the center axes of the upper and lower dies are aligned along a straight line.
