PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water repellent coating of long service life, easily coatable with ordinary coaters including bar coaters and reverse coaters each with low coating cost and simple coating operation, and seldom causing coating unevennesses as well, despite being prepared by dispersing perfluoroethylene resin powder in a binder resin in the presence of an organic solvent. SOLUTION: This water repellent coating is obtained by dispersing perfluoroethylene resin powder in a binder resin in the presence of an organic solvent; wherein a lipophilic swellable layered clay mineral (preferably, lipophilic smectite) is used as the dispersion stabilizer.
