SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a novel method of synthesis of compounds of the formula (I): where A means C1-C6-alkyl, aryl that is mono- or di-substituted with F, Cl, Br, OCH3, C1-C3-alkyl or benzyl. These compounds are inhibitors of 5-lipoxygenase and useful in treatment of inflammatory diseases, allergy and cardiovascular diseases. Invention relates to also novel compounds of the formula (I) where A is -C1-C6 and to intermediate compounds of the formula (VIII): where X is Br or Cl that is necessary for synthesis of compounds of the formula (I).
