The NC lathe comprises a frame (1), a threaded rod (12) revolving along the frame longitudinal spindle axis comprising a positive thread section (121) and a counter thread section (122), a part holder table unit (2) and a tool holder unit (3). The part holder table unit comprises a first nut (23) engaging the counter thread and the tool holder unit comprises a second nut (312) which engages the positive thread section. When the threaded rod is rotated by a servo-motor (M) the two units are displaced simultaneously in opposite directions along the spindle axis and at a relative displacement speed double the standard speed.
