PURPOSE: A parking brake control apparatus of an ABS(anti-lock brake system) and a method thereof are provided to drive conveniently by operating and releasing a parking brake simply with controlling hydraulic pressure in a brake line, and to make the best use of space by eliminating a parking lever and a parking brake. CONSTITUTION: A parking brake control device of an anti-lock brake system is composed of a vehicle speed sensor(10) detecting speed of a vehicle; a wheel speed detecting sensor(20) detecting speed of a wheel in the vehicle; a brake switch(30) detecting the brake pedal effort; a temporary parking brake switch(40) installed around a dashboard with switching on and off; an anti-lock brake system control unit(70) outputting a hold mode control signal in turning on the brake switch and the temporary parking brake switch in not detecting speed of vehicle and wheel by operating signals from sensors; an ABS actuator(80) converting hydraulic pressure of the brake line into the hold mode according to the hold mode control signal; and a temporary parking brake lamp(90) displaying the driving state of the temporary parking brake. Convenience is improved with operating and releasing the parking brake simply, and fatigue is reduced with controlling hydraulic pressure in the brake line.
