PURPOSE: An array substrate for a liquid crystal display and a method of fabricating the array substrate are provided to fabricate an array substrate unbreakable even with external shocks by using a flexible substrate instead of glass substrate. CONSTITUTION: An array substrate of a liquid crystal display includes a lower substrate(173) made of a flexible material, a buffer layer formed on the lower substrate, and a thin film transistor formed on the buffer layer and constructed of a gate electrode(126), a source electrode(159) and a drain electrode(161). The array substrate further includes a gate line connected with the gate electrode of the thin film transistor, a data line intersecting the gate line, having an insulating layer between them, to define a pixel region, and a pixel electrode(171) connected with the drain electrode and formed at the pixel region.
