PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet which prevents the photopolymerization failure of a photopolymerizable composition due to monomer contamination in a light irradiation section, the lowering in the releasbility of a substrate, and the lowering in the cohesive force of a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, and can render the releasing treatment of an optically transmitting film unnecessary. SOLUTION: The process for producing a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet by photopolymerizing a photopolymerizable composition layer 4 on a substrate 1 by light irradiation to form a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer comprises a first step of feeding an inert gas between an optically transmitting film 7 which cuts short wavelength rays and the composition layer 4, the film 7 being allowed to lie between the composition layer 4 and a light irradiation section 21 to irradiate the composition layer 4 with the rays transmitted through the film 7 while moving the film 7 in non-contact with the composition layer 4, and a second step of thereafter irradiating the composition layer 4 with short wavelength rays.
