PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery pack and a structure of battery housing chamber that prevent the short circuit between the positive electrode terminal and the negative electrode terminal when the battery pack connecting in series plural secondary batteries is reverse mounted in the battery chamber having interchangeability with plural primary batteries. SOLUTION: The battery pack 1 comprises a plurality of secondary batteries which are connected in series and housed between the upper case 4 and the lower case 5, and in which both ends of the series connected circuit are connected with positive electrode terminal 6 and the negative electrode terminal 7 and the both ends of a part opened in the series connected circuit are connected with a pair of short circuit terminals 3a, 3b. The battery housing chamber is comprised of a short circuit plate equipped to the lid that closes the battery housing recess, and the pair of short circuit terminals 3a, 3b are connected by the short circuit plate when the lid is closed by mounting the battery pack 1 in the battery housing chamber. When the battery pack 1 is reverse mounted, the pair of short circuit terminals 3a, 3b are not connected, and hence the series connected circuit is not completed.
