PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make hydraulic pressure within a pressure vessel body reach a prescribed value in a short time and to stabilize the pressure when a hydrostatic pressure test is performed on the pressure vessel body. SOLUTION: The pressure vessel comprises a booster pump 9 for feeding water into the pressure vessel body 1 when the hydrostatic pressure test is performed on the pressure vessel body 1, and an air vent pipe 11 for exhausting air remaining within the pressure vessel body 1 to the outside. An end of the air vent pipe 11 that is positioned inside the pressure vessel body 1 opens in the vicinity of an upper end of the inside of the pressure vessel body 1. A central part of a bottom side of a cover plate 7 for sealing a top of the pressure vessel body 1 is formed into a smooth projection shape facing downward.
