VARIABLE CAPACITY TYPE SWASH PLATE COMPRESSOR

PURPOSE: A variable capacity type swash plate compressor is provided to improve efficiency of compression and durability of a driving shaft. CONSTITUTION: A compressor includes a front housing(1) and a rear housing; a cylinder block, a driving shaft(40); a swash plate(60); a spring(100); a plurality of pistons; and a control valve. The front housing and the rear housing form a hermetic space. The cylinder block with a plurality cylindrical bores is built in the front housing and the rear housing. The driving shaft is installed to penetrate the front housing and the rear housing and rotatably supported by the front housing and has a driving part(41), whose section is approximately square, on a middle thereof. The swash plate is discal and slantly inserted to the driving part to change tilt angle thereof by rotating centering on a point separated from the driving shaft and has a penetrating hole whose shape corresponds with the section of the driving part. The spring is inserted around the driving shaft between the swash plate and an inner wall of a front end of the front housing to elastically support the swash plate on the front housing. The pistons are joined on a periphery of the swash plate with shoes interposed to reciprocate in the bores of the cylinder block. The control valve controls pressure in a crank chamber formed by a space between the front housing and the cylinder block.
