PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover condensed water generated when supernatant water in a septic tank is discharged to the atmosphere as steam, thereby enabling the condensed water to be recycled or discharged. SOLUTION: This apparatus for treating supernatant water in a septic tank comprises a water-to-be-treated storing tank 4, a pump 5 with a motor for introducing the water-to-be-treated 2 to the storage tank, a conveying pump 18 with a motor for supplying the water-to-be-treated 2 to a spray nozzle 9, the spray nozzle 9 for spraying the water-to-be-treated into a evaporator 10, the evaporator 10 equipped with an electric heater 15, a control means 19 for operating or stopping the pump 5 with the motor, the conveying pump 18 with the motor, and the electric heater 15, based on water level signals detected by a water level sensor 7, a condensed drain receiving vessel 13 for receiving condensed drain dropped from the evaporator 10, and a condensed water receiving tank 14 for receiving condensed water condensed in a steam passage 11.
