PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recorder that executes generating processing of special reproduction data corresponding to a DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform) type. SOLUTION: A DCT type discrimination section 31 receives an I picture separated by an intra-frame separation section 12. When the DCT type is a frame DCT, a DCT component extract section 32 extracts a DC component from a DCT coefficient of the received I picture. When the DCT type is a field DCT, a DCT component extract section 33 extracts a DC component from a DCT coefficient of the received I picture and an inverse DCT processing section 34 applies inverse DCT processing to a video signal without revising the resolution on the basis of the DC component and a low-degree AC components of the received I picture. A field averaging processing section 36 applies field replacement processing to received sub blocks and outputs a macro block subjected to averaging processing to a data length adjustment section 16.
