<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve drive system for making change opening- and-closing timing and the open time of a valve changed. SOLUTION: A movable valve 30 between an open position and a shutdown position, a bucket tappet 40 which has the lifter plate 41, an actuator 70 in the hydraulic pressure as a swing means, spring 72, and solenoids 80 are installed. While being brought into contact with the central part 44 of the lifter plate 41 with the camshaft lobe 22, it is contacted with the stem end 34 of a valve terminus. The lifter plate 41 is translatable with rotation of the cam- shaft lobe 22, so that a motion of the valve 30 which is made to move to an open position is produced. The swing means swings the lifer plate 41 to the side where it faces to a lobe 22 for quicker contact with the lifter plate 41, and makes the lifter plate 41 to a side away from lobe 22 for the delayed contact. As a result, early engagement makes a valve 30, open prematurely and delayed engagement causes delay and makes the valve 30 open belatedly.</p> |
