PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a swirl in a cylinder by preventing air intake interference between ports. SOLUTION: This intake structure for an engine is provided with a tangential port 3 adjacent to a swirl port an exit part 9 of the tangential port 3 is bent with respect to the main port part 10 and at the bent part 11, an inner wall 12, at least facing a direction opposite the intake air flow coming from the swirl port is formed into a sharp edge. The flow is separated by a sharp edge, and since a swirl R is generated in the right downstream side, the flow counterposed to the flow from the swirl port disappears to prevent the lessening of the swirl.
