PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the hot-rolling method of a metallic sheet by which scratches on the metallic sheet to be made into a product can be effectively suppressed by a simple method and a hot-rolling mill. SOLUTION: Rolling is performed while preventing falling of foreign matter onto materials 6, 7 to be rolled. Thus, the hot-rolling mill for metallic sheets is provided with means 8a, 9a, 25, 34, 35, 45 for preventing falling of foreign matter on structures 8, 9, 20, 30, 40 constituting the hot-rolling mills 3, 4, which are situated above the passing region of the materials 6, 7 to be rolled.
