PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely fix an outer race of a bearing to a fixing object part by staking, even under the condition of difficulty in fixing the bearing, such as when the depth of an outer race fitting hole is deep with respect to the width of the outer race, and when the fixing object part is thin. SOLUTION: The thickness of a wall surface of the outer race fitting hole is pushed in the inmost part of the outer race fitting hole by a staking punch 10, having a diameter which is larger than the diameter of the outer race fitting hole, and a thickness quantity required for forming a locking part 9c is taken little by little, from a wide range of the wall surface of the outer race fitting hole. The thickness quantity required as a whole is secured, the pushed-in thickness is brought into pressure contact with an end surface part 2a of the outer race 2 by the staking punch 10, and the locking part 9c is formed. Thus, sufficient strength can be imparted to the locking part 9c. Since the thickness is taken little by little from the wide range of the wall surface of the outer race fitting hole, the strength of a thin housing 9 itself will not be reduced, and the deformation will not be caused. |
