PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display device for vehicle capable of simplifying the judgment on the operation of a vehicle, while improving the visibility of a display screen. SOLUTION: When the angle between the traveling direction of the vehicle and the azimuth from a one's own vehicle position O to a target point D is less than a predetermined angleθ, a screen on which the route to a destination and the one's own vehicle position are superposed on the road map is displayed on a display part 34 in a state that the azimuth from the one's own vehicle position O to the target point D is directed the right above position on the display screen of the display part 34. On the other hand, when the angle between the traveling direction of the vehicle and the azimuth from the one's own vehicle position O to the target point D is over the predetermined angleθ, the screen on which the route to the destination and the one's own vehicle position are superposed to the road map is displayed on the display part 34 in a state the traveling direction of the vehicle is inclined at a predetermined angle to the right above position on the display screen of the display part 34.
