PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair in which a user himself can move up and down his feet on the footrest without being improperly-strapped. SOLUTION: The wheelchair sets up the footrest 16, 16 linked up so that it can move up and down by the elevating link mechanism 15 and the control lever 17. The control lever 17 grounds the footrest 16, 16 on the floor and lifts it up to the fixed position with the feet of a user on. The elevating footrest 14 possesses the first link 19 and the second link 20 which can turn freely and is set up on the support tube 18 hung from and formed on the tube frame 11 at the front of the front wheel 13, and the footrest base 21 which can turn freely and is linked up on the head of the first link 19 and the second link 20. The footrest 16, 16 are linked up on the footrest base 21. The second link 20 possesses which extends to the rear wheel 12 side from the fixed place of the support tube 18, and interlinks the interlock link 22 with the absorber 24 as an expansion and contraction mechanism.
