PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rationally control an attitude of a shield machine against rolling. SOLUTION: A shield jack 8 is formed partially as a correcting jack 8A capable of adjusting a direction to be taken by a reaction force to a circumferential direction of a tunnel. A shield machine body 2 is provided with a rolling sensor 13 for sensing a rotational angle around a center axis of the machine body 2, and a control device 3 determines the direction to be taken by the reaction force in the correcting jack 8A according to output from the rolling sensor 13.
