PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an imaging apparatus in which charges can be injected with high efficiency even under a low voltage and an image can be formed with a high resolution and a high image quality by stabilizing the potential and size of an electrostatic latent image. SOLUTION: In the imaging apparatus for forming an electrostatic latent image on an image carrier 2 using a writing unit 3 provided with a plurality of writing electrodes 3b arranged along the axial direction of the image carrier in contact therewith, the image carrier 2 comprises a dielectric layer 2b formed on a dielectric basic body 2c and a charge injection layer 2a formed on the dielectric layer and a relation d12 < unit area of the electrode is satisfied where d1 is the thickness of the charge injection layer. |
