PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polygon mirror which is suitable for high-speed rotation and serves to image quality of high accuracy. SOLUTION: The respective flanks in a base section 5 of a polygonal shape in plane view of this polygon mirror 41 are subjected to mirror surface finishing, by which the polygon mirror is manufactured. The plane shapes of the respective flanks 9a to 9f after the mirror surface finishing are made uniform to a concave shape in plane view.
