ALIPHATIC POLYESTER YARN FOR CARPET AND CARPET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aliphatic polyester yarn providing a carpet which has excellent bulkiness and wear resistance and can be lightened by excellent covering properties and a carpet, especially a carpet having excellent performances for automobiles by using the aliphatic polyester yarn as a face yarn. SOLUTION: This aliphatic polyester yarn for a carpet is characterized in that the fiber is an assembly of hollow sectional single filaments obtained by subjecting an aliphatic polyester having >=145 deg.C melting point to melt spinning and is constituted of aliphatic polyester multifilament having 500-5,000 dtex total fineness and the hollow sectional single filaments have >=3μm thickness composed of a gap between an outer wheel part and the contour part of the hollow part. This carpet is obtained by using the aliphatic polyester yarn as a face yarn.
