PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand carry edger capable of preventing abrasion of a cover without increasing the number of part items. SOLUTION: This hand carry edger supports a gear case 2 and a rotary blade 3 interlocked to the gear case on one end of a main rod 1 supported by the hand. The edger installs an engine 4 rotating the rotary blade 3 through a gear in the gear case on the other end of the main rod 1 and installs a resinous cover 6 covering the rotary blade 3 on a flange 2a of the gear case 2 and mounts a running wheel 7 on the cover 6. The peripheral edge of the flange 2a is set on a same plane of the peripheral edge of the bottom of the cover 6 or at least protruding from the plane to the outside direction of the diameter.
