PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel for fishing provided with a sealing material capable of affording stable waterproof performances relatively to a bearing part of a driving shaft rotatably supported in a reel body. SOLUTION: This reel for fishing is provided with a spool shaft 5 freely rotatably supported through a bearing part 6a on a supporting part 3c of the reel body and the sealing material 60 arranged near the bearing 6a. The reel for fishing is characterized in that sealing material 60 is arranged in a state in contact with an outer periphery of the spool shaft 5 separately in the shaft direction relatively to the bearing 6a and a deformation permitting gap T for preventing a contact part of the sealing material 60 with the outer periphery of the spool shaft 5 from deforming and entering the interior of the bearing 6a when inserting and removing the spool shaft 5 relatively to the bearing 6a is formed between the bearing 6a and the sealing material 60.
